Twitter friends

Twitter is a strange world of people sharing, laughing, commiserating, and rejoicing what is going on in their lives. I've been on it for a while under the name CapnSkulduggery. A lot of the people I follow and that follow me back are fellow artisans that chat about what they are making and what they have sold etc, so I get to see lots of amazing handmade goods. I thought you might like to see a few of them.

Kitty Ballistic's fun felt fortune cookies are a great present to give a friend. I'm sure if you ask Helen, she will customise the message in the cookie for you. That way it can be a very personal fortune for your friend.

Tomato Tea has had a shop on Coriandr for quite a while, but has only just got her first sale there. I was surprised it took so long as her goods are beautiful. When I have some cash I will most definitely be purchasing some of her hand spun yarn.

Yay for pirate sock kitties from The Other Mousie. This lady is great to follow on Twitter, because she is always up beat, happy and fun to chat to and I love seeing all her new goods as she tells us about listing them in her shop.

Snapdragon Beads is a most talented bead artist. Her jewellery is so stylish and her colour choices are always fabulous. As well as her Etsy shop she has a shop on Coriandr, both are full of fantastic items.

The ever so lovely Swirlyarts is not only a very talented lady, but she is kind and generous with her time and the help she gives to other artisans. As the editor and writer of Cuteable she supports the handmade movement by highlighting the best of the best that you can find for sale online. A more dedicated champion of recycling and handmade goods you won't find.

If you love handmade goods and want to find all the latest listings being put up online you won't go far wrong in logging onto twitter and then do a search for "#handmade". You should bring up lots of posts containing links to new listings.

Tweet's from Twitterers

Today I'm featuring some lovely bird themed goods from Twitter users. Twitter is a great way to meet other artisans and I have found lots of fabulous handmade goods through using the service. You also get to chat to some amazing people. If you want to follow me on there, I'm CapnSkulduggery.

Vintage Violets Buttons creates beautiful felt brooches and Frankie the owl is one of those gorgeous creations. As you can see from this close up photo attention to detail is what makes these brooches so special.

Swirlyarts has a shop full of bird related goodies. I love her chicken door stops but I chose to share these labels with you because they are just so cute and colourful. A myriad of feathered friends.

The lovely Tizzalicious makes a range of colourful goods, from Jewellery to plushies. The Retro feel of her shop will appeal to so many people. I think any little girl would be very excited to receive this chick necklace.

Tea anyone? Vintage Town has created this birdie cosy to keep your teapot lovely and warm so that you can spend a long Sunday morning reading the paper and sipping at a cupper whilst you find out what's going on in the world and read the funnies. It will even keep your pot warm whilst you finish off the crossword too!

Artistico collage art print made me chuckle. The Owl is so patterned, he really stands out. I'm not sure with all those bright jazzy feathers he would be able to sneak up on that many mouse dinners.

If you are looking for new people to chat to about the handmade movement or just want to see lots of gorgeous handmade goods, get over to twitter and do a search for people that have tagged themselves as "handmade". You'll find lots of people to chat to and follow and you will hear all the latest updates to shops and news about what people are working on. See you there!

Goodies I found through Twitter today.

Twitter is a site that people can network through via the medium of mini blogging. Each message written can be no longer than 140 key strokes. It makes for a fast moving, interesting place to spend some time on. You can spend an hour there and get linked to so many fabulous handmade and vintage goods as a lot of independent artisans use the site to get their products out there and seen. You also get to chat with the people making those products so you can ask them all about their beautiful creations. Here are a few of the goodies I got to see today.

This set of 6 mini cards are so bright and colourful they really made me smile. It's so cold and grey here today I needed an injection colour and festiveness. You can find these cards in ndnchick's shop at Artfire. Thanks ndnchick for brightening up my day!

Knister23 brings us these cute little Christmas tree earrings. They are made mainly of glass beads that catch the light so well. Perfect for the festive season. If Christmas trees aren't your style, she has many other pretty goodies in her shop to check out.

Just how much fun is octopus from LadyElevator? I think I want to name her Octavia the Octopus because any octopus in such a pretty dress deserves a name, don't you think? Octavia has many friends in LadyElevator's shop. All very individual and deserving of love.

Not only do we have handmade goods, we have handmade goods made from vintage fabric too, as Lyptis showed me. Using vintage fabrics to create new items is the best form of recycling going and what a beautiful dress she has created!

Woooo-Woooo the train is coming! Isn't this painting fabulous! It's an original oil painting from DoreenBatesart's shop on Etsy. Doreen is obviously inspired by things she sees around her. The perspective in the picture is great!

MakaLeWakan created these gorgeous seed balls. I love the colours and the texture of them and think that they look great in a large group as they are in the photo. They are rustic but stylish and they really caught my eye in her Dawanda shop. I can imagine a Christmas tree with many of this hanging from it along with dried orange slices and cinnamon sticks.

Twitter is a really good place to find new thing. Try it out, you will be sure to become addicted fast.
