Tree Challenge

This weeks Challenge word is Tree. I picked it because Jon had gone to stay with our friend Nick for 2 days to help him plant an orchard of apple tree saplings. Nick is starting up a Cider making business, Ceri Valley Orchards Ltd, and is planting the new orchard so that in years to come he has new trees full of yummy apples. The business is in its infancy so you won't be able to buy the cider yet, but I'll let you know when it's on sale.

Add to this that yesterday I found the gorgeous shop Hi Tree and you can see why I picked the word.

Again it's all for fun and as a bit of inspiration for people to try something new and share it with the rest of us. So all you need to do is create /write /document /photograph something that is related to trees. Either send me a convo on etsy with a picture of your item or a copy of what you have written or comment on this blog entry with a link to your blog article with the tree related item/prose.

This morning I received another entry for the Spider challenge from Buttons 'N Such. What a pretty little leather cuff! Thanks you for joining in Buttons!

Incy Wincy Spider

So as this weeks word is Spider I had to go and look for a few to share with you, so fair warning, if you are a real Arachnophobe you might want to bypass my blog today. For all you other Arachnophiles (is there such a word?) here come the spiders!

Lets start with this cutie from Buttuglee. His name is Theodore and he is one of many beautiful sculptures made by Jennifer of Buttuglee. If you have a fly problem in your home then Theodore looks good and hungry for a bite.

BarrelOfMonkeys little spider badges say it all for me today. I'm not in the best of moods, but writing this is cheering me up. Maybe I should wear one of these on days when I feel a bit snappy, to warn family and friends to tread carefully.

This really gorgeous photo from Andy McCurdy just caught my eye this morning. It looks like a fresh clear dewy morning. A new day with bright new possibilities around the corner. Beautiful!

Lesson 1 in how to be a stylish Spider lover: Go to CadillacCowboys shop and purchase one of these T-shirts. Lesson 2: wear it always. Lesson 3: Go back and buy a second T-shirt when the first one needs a wash.

For all the Fairy spider lovers, why not get a pair of eproductsales gorgeous spider web wings. I love all the wings in her shop but I think right now these ones are my favourite.

Lastly for today I picked this photo from Quixoticpixels, not only because it is such a stunning photo, but for it's title "Insufficient Camouflage". Just how perfect is that title? Stunning!

I don't really understand why so many people are fearful of spiders. They catch flies and other pesky insects and they create such amazing webs. I suppose because I live in the UK and we don't really have any dangerous spiders I've never really seen the point of being frightened of them. Maybe I would feel differently if I lived near ones that could paralyse me.

The Spider Challenge

So last week we had Robots, lets have spiders this week. This is all just for fun, but if you want to join in you will be more than welcome. The challenge is to create something spider related in the week and either send pictures or the written word (if it's a story or poem) to me so I can post it here on the blog or post it on your own blog and add a comment on this one with a link to it. Any that you enter will be linked back to your site/shop and full credit given. So get creating! I can't wait to see what you all come up with this week.

Out of the Pink Sky has just sent me the link to these spiders to share with us all. Cute earrings!
