Artisan of the Week, Amy Barta of The Peach Tree

Today we have Amy from The Peach Tree to tell us a bit about her craft of jewellery design and creation. They have a weekend sale on right now so if you are quick you just might be able to bag yourself a beautiful bargain!

1.Could you please introduce us to who you are and what you do?

We are The Peach Tree. My boyfriend and I collaborate in selection and design of each creation, thus concocting incredibly unique and striking pieces that encompass duel emotions.

2.What led you to take up your craft?

I've actually always collected and studied stones and minerals and I found there were so many that never saw the light of day :) I'm knowing giving those beauties their day to shine!

3.Which part of your work do you most enjoy?

Oh, that's a hard question. The creative process is an obvious one, but I truly love all of the people that I've meet thus far on my etsy journey.

4.Which part do you find hardest?

Hmmm.... I guess it would be seeing my favourite pair of earrings or necklace sit here on the shelf without yet finding a loving home.

5.Where do you hope to be in 1 year’s time?

Right here! I wouldn't trade this for the world!

6. What is the best advice you have ever been given?

"Go, you can make it"

7. Name other artisans sites/shops would you recommend are worth a visit?

Oh! Great question!

Kirsten loves dinner, who makes crochet goodies and more!
Hannapt a maker of pet goods.
Julie Persons is an amazing needle felter. Her creations are stunningly beautiful.
brezomayo makes a mixture of useful items including bags and cards.
Heidi Shannon sells beautiful photographs to put some colour into your life.

Sorry it that's too many! and to those I didn't get to!

8.What is your favourite sandwich filling?

Mmmm, Hummus :)

Thank you Amy for being our Artisan of the Week. Don't forget to rush over there to get the end of the sale!
