After dropping a wine glass in the sink and seeing it shatter into hundreds of little shards and having to clean it up I started to wonder if there was anything I could do with the larger pieces rather than putting them into the recycling bin and that led me to searching on the handmade shops for inspiration... I got very side tracked and never really came up with any plans, but I did find so many beautiful and varied pieces all made out of various kinds of glass.
Nonnie's Treasures' stain glass panel is so detailed I just had to feature it on the blog I love the colour pallet of the glasses used and think the subject matter is just divine.
eclecticmoi use of glass in this unusual necklace is great. I like the sparkle and the round shape. It reminds me of wearing a ring, from my boyfriend, on a chain around my neck when I was a teenager as I didn't want my brothers to see it as they didn't like the boy I was dating.
Purple Princess created this gorgeous crown from hundreds of tiny glass beads. It's fabulous and fun, elegant and exciting. Just putting on your head will make you feel special. I think we should all own one!
Robin's simple, yet sweet, glass heart brooch is fantastic. I think it would make a perfect gift for someone you love. Every time they wear it they can remember just how loved they are.
Now this last item made me laugh as soon as I saw it, CT Studios' male torso sculpture is called "Daniel, Teachers Pet" and it just reminded me of a boy at school that was always given A grades whatever work he turned in to one of our female English teachers.. coincidentally he was the best swimmer in the school... I'll leave you to add up why he always go A grades.
So as you can see, glass can be used in so many ways. I'm sure to be able to find something to do with my smashed wine glass pieces. Thanks for the inspiration all you people that work with glass!
